MCS Woodworking has been in business since August of 1995, founded by Mike Schmidt—a journeyman cabinet maker in Milwaukee, WI. Mike’s experience as a woodworking professional actually goes back to 1976 and in that time, he’s honed his craft and cultivated a team that today produces some of the best millwork in the area.
We specialize in commercial plastic laminate millwork, producing displays, mouldings and, of course, cabinetry in Milwaukee, WI, among many other made-to-order items to meet the requirements of new and existing construction. Using the latest CAD system, we also provide cost engineering to produce the most cost-effective finished products.

Mike has been in the trade since 1976. He completed his 4 year apprenticeship and became a journeyman cabinetmaker. After 19 years of working on the bench, he decided to start his own business, in August 1995. Mike spends a majority of his time quoting new projects and managing work in progress.
VP / Operations & Sales
– Project Manager
Matt started at MCS in July 1998, as an unskilled cabinetmaker. He is now a project manager, in charge of scheduling and shop production. Most of his time is spent overseeing production and creating shop drawings. Matt also helps in the office by quoting upcoming projects. His favorite aspect of cabinetmaking is seeing an idea on paper and bringing it to life as something tangible.
Rachael began working at MCS in January of 2006, as a part-time bookkeeper. She graduated from UW-Milwaukee, in the spring of 2008, with a bachelors degree in finance. Rachael handles the administrative duties; which includes bookkeeping, preparing reports and budgets, and researching new products, among other daily tasks. She has enjoyed learning about the new trends within the construction industry.
We welcomed Jim to our company in August 2010. Prior to Jim’s start at MCS, he worked as a cabinet maker for a larger millwork firm in the Milwaukee area. His previous experience has taught him valuable information and skills that he is able to apply. He enjoys creating custom millwork because each job is unique and challenging.
Project Manager / Shop Foreman
Stan owned Craftsman Woodwork Inc. in Milwaukee, WI, where he focused on residential work and custom mouldings. MCS hired Stan in October 2014 to head up our new moulding division. He not only runs the moulding division, but he is also the shop foreman and oversees the daily operations. Stan entered the trade in 1978 where he took a 4-year apprenticeship and became a journeyman cabinet maker. His knowledge and expertise are a great asset to our company.
